EUROPAEUM SPECIALIZATION


Europaeum is an association of prestigious European universities (Oxford, Leiden, Bologna, Bonn, Geneva, Paris I, Prague, Helsinki, Cracow). Its Secretariat is based at the University of Oxford.


In the academic year 2012-13 opened the Institute of International Studies, Charles University in conjunction with the Université Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne and the Universiteit Leiden under the auspices of Europaeum the new Master's degree VACLAV HAVEL MA PROGRAMME specialization (European politics, contemporary history of Europe, Europe in international relations). Other partner universities are expected to join the program in the coming years. The program participants are awarded prestigious designation of "Vaclav Havel Scholar". The graduates will alongside the master`s diploma receive also a certificate issued by the Europaeum associatium.


The EUROPAEUM specialization includes a one-semester stay at one of the partner`s universities, organized within the Erasmus program, participation in two spring schools in Oxford with the participation of students and teachers of the partner universities (supported by the EUROPAEUM) and a thesis elaboration under dual leadership.


The participants stay at the partner universities in 2013 and 2014 was funded by the Erasmus / Erasmus + (Leiden) and the Mobility Fund UK (Paris). Participation in workshops in Oxford, the accommodation and meal allowance was funded by the organizer, travel expenses were covered by the UK contribution.


The program is intended for students of subsequent master`s program of the European Studies and the West European Studies. Participants will be enrolled in the program following the selection procedure. Interest in the EUROPAEUM specialization does not need to be indicated on the application form ES / ZES.


Expert guarantor of the EUROPAEUM specialization is prof. PhDr. Lenka Rovná, CSc.

Selection procedure for the academic year 2015-16


Applications for the EUROPAEUM program are to be handed to the secretariat KZES to the attention of Jan Váška, no later than 20. 1. 2016. The application must contain

2. Cover letter / preliminary design of the project for stay at the partner university

3. Preliminary disertation thesis

(documentation may be in the Czech / Slovak, English or French)
